DA case: ACB raids in Jaipur, Kotputli; PWD section officer booked

Jaipur: Teams of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday raided the premises of a divisional accountant of the Public Works Department for amassing assets 200 per cent more than his actual income. The ACB had booked Mahipal Singh, a divisional accountant of the Public Works Department posted in Kotputli, for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to income. Search and raids were carried out at different locations in Jaipur and Kotputli and it was found that Mahipal Singh had amassed assets worth Rs. 2.63 crore, which is 200 per cent more than his actual income. The ACB sleuths also recovered various documents related to movable and immovable properties, investments in mutual funds and insurance companies, 10.23 lakh cash, 1 kg of gold biscuit, 372 grams of jewellery, luxury cars, and bank locker among others. The raids continued till late Wednesday night.
