Former CM Vasundhara Raje on Tuesday, conducted an aerial survey of crop damage in Jhalawar, Baran, Tonk, Bundi, Bhilwara and Kota districts and said that this rain has caused a huge loss to the farmers. “Not only the crops are damaged in the state but the intention of the Congress government is also damaged. Due to the unseasonal rains, the Kharif crop has been destroyed in many districts, but the government doesn’t have time to wipe their tears. More than 5 lakh farmers have filed complaints about the damage and this figure is modest. Apart from this, there are lakhs of farmers in the state who do not even know the process of making a complaint,” she said after doing an aerial survey of crop damage. MP Dushyant Singh, her son, also accompanied her. She demanded that State Govt should simplify the insurance process and do away with condition of filing complaint within the 72- hour limit. Congress Govt didn’t even compensate farmers for the damage caused last year. There is a big loss in soybean, pulses, paddy etc but this govt doesn’t even have time to wipe tears of the farmers, she charged.
