Eye on schemes: CM Gehlot asks MLAs to check food quality served at Indira Rasois
Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has taken a new initiative with the objective of maintaining and monitoring quality of Indira Rasoi Yojana launched in the state for ‘No one should sleep hungry’ campaign. Gehlot has asked all MLAs to have food at Indira Rasoi once a month. The MLAs also praised this step of CM Gehlot and immediately started implementing it. Notably, the Chief Minister himself also ate food in Indira Rasoi in Jodhpur along with Assembly Speaker Dr. CP Joshi. So far 7.42 cr people have been served thali under the Indira Rasoi Yojana.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot held a review meeting of various urban schemes including Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Scheme, Indira Rasoi Yojana at CMO. In Indira Gandhi Shahari Rozgar Yojana, run with a budget of Rs 800 crore, so far more than 3.02 lakh families of urban areas have registered under the scheme and employment is being provided to about 66,000 people. Gehlot directed for regular monitoring of the quality of food being served under Indira Rasoi Yojana and transparency in the scheme. He said that this scheme is proving to be a boon for the students and personnel coming from outside in the time of inflation. Notably, a total of 870 Rasois are operating in the state, whose number has been targeted to be increased to 1000, after which 13.81 crore food plates can be distributed annually. During the meeting, Chief Minister Gehlot talked about the progress of schemes like strengthening of sewerage system in Jaipur’s walled city area, operation of Jaipur Night Bazaar, beautification of park, Town Hall, Jaleb Chowk, etc. The Chief Minister said that besides giving priority to sanitation related works under Indira Gandhi Urban Employment Guarantee Scheme, environmental and water conservation works, solid waste management works, encroachment and illegal boards, removal of hoardings, heritage conservation etc.
