Fire at secretariat: Promotion files of gazetted officers burnt

Jaipur: The fire that broke out in the 1st section of DOP at Secretariat on Sunday was extinguished after an hour but promotion related files got burnt. Files related to promotion of gazetted officers were burnt due to fire in room number 2219 of Personnel Dept at the Secretariat. Police are investigating cause of the fire. According to forensic team, reason for fire seems to be wall mount fan, which was left on all night. Due to excessive heating, its wiring melted & fell on fiber chair, and caused fire. Police are also probing if fire was caused due to negligence. CCTV camera footage has been scanned. Fire on a Sunday when there’s no employees raised suspicion.
