Fire engulfs Heerapura power house, no casualties reported
Jaipur: A massive fire broke out at Heerapura Power House on Ajmer Road in Jaipur on Wednesday evening.
Within no time, the fire engulfed the entire 440 KW Grid Sub Station (GSS). Following the incident, more than 10 fire tenders from VKI, Mansarovar, Malviya Nagar, Jhotwara and 22 Godown area reached the spot and it took three hours to get control over the fire.
Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Rajendra Nagar informed that people alerted the fire control room at 6:57pm about the fire.
“Initially, the grass of the GSS premises caught fire, but it spreaded to other parts of the grid station within no time. There were power cables spread over the power house and electricity supply to Jaipur takes place from this station. From here electricity is supplied to Chambal Power House, Nala Power House, Ram Mandir Power House and Sanganer Power House. The reason behind the fire incident is yet to be ascertained,” said Rajendra Nagar.
