JAIPUR WITNESSES SPIKE IN CYBER FRAUD CASES IN LAST TWO YEARS

Jaipur: There has been an increase in cyber fraud cases in Jaipur in the last two years. Until August this year, 207 cases have been registered in all the police stations of Jaipur Commissionerate. Earlier, 172 cases were reported in 2021 and 174 in 2020. The recently released data shows that in 2022, maximum cases of cyber fraud in Jaipur were in the South and East district of Jaipur Commissionerate. Until August, 61 cases were registered in the South district and 52 in the East district. Apart from this, 26 cases were registered in the North District, 42 in the West District and 26 in Cyber Police Station. A total of 207 cases were registered. Of these, only 16 accused were arrested and a probe is on in 170 cases. Police presented challan in 13 cases and FIR was imposed in 24 cases after the accused were not traced. According to police, cyber thugs are doing online fraud on pretexts like lotteries, jobs, mobile phone recharge, updating bank accounts.
