No. of flights may increase to 70 from Sept

Jaipur: Nine flights are just on paper as the airlines could not operate the flights from Jaipur airport despite getting their schedule approved. Because of this, cities like Belgaum and Surat could not be connected with Jaipur while confusion is there over flights to Nagpur, Ranchi and Patna.At present, an average of 57 flights are being operated daily.

If these 9 flights also operate, passengers will be able to get many options. The situation raises questions on the control of the regulatory agency DGCA. The nine flights which are on papers are of Air India, Vistara, SpiceJet, Star Air for cities like Belgaum, Surat, Bengaluru, Mumbai, New Delhi and Ahmedabad.

There are a total of 59 flights being operated and of them, 33 flights of IndiGo. Apart from these, six international flights are also being operated at the Jaipur airport. The number of flights will increase to 70 in September. Nagpur, Ranchi, Bhopal, Patna, Belgaum will have connectivity by September.
