Ransomware attack on SpiceJet flights

Jaipur: Hundreds of SpiceJet passengers were left stranded at various airports, including Jaipur International Airport, on Wednesday morning due to a ransomware attack on company’s internal system.

Sources informed operations of nine SpiceJet flights were affected at Jaipur airport between 6am to 2pm. The malware attack led to a delay of 2 to 4 hrs in flight operations. It slowed down morning flight departures.

“Airline company initially informed passengers that delay was due to server issues. However, later clarified delay was result of ransomware attack.”
