Runway expansion in Udpr but flights grounded at others

Jaipur: Udaipur airport’s runway length will be increased from 2281 to 2741 metres making its about 9,000 feet. Besides, the instrument landing system is also working smoothly. These facilities will increase air traffic at Udaipur airport, second busiest in the state. Air traffic will also increase when G-20 Sherpa Summit begins in first week of December. Meanwhile, Kishangarh airport has only one flight service despite the tourist season being at its peak. Last year, on an average four flights operated daily during this time. But now only one flight is operational. Star Air’s flight to Indore did not operate after Nov 15. Star Air’s flight to Surat runs only once a week. Earlier, Alliance Air operated flights from Jaipur four days a week. These two major cities are included in the tourist triangle but the airlines have not started flights. Regional air connectivity flights from Jaipur have stopped. These flights were operating under the Central government’s ambitious flight scheme, Udaan, so that the common citizen of the country could fly
