Will fight for ‘Protection Act’ in Assembly and streets: Poonia

Jaipur: BJP State president Dr Satish Poonia on Friday met the protesting lawyers in Jaipur and demanded that the State Government should implement the Advocates Protection Act.

While addressing the protesting advocates, Dr Poonia said that the BJP will raise the demand for the Advocates Protection Act in the Assembly and on the streets as well.

“In a democracy, when anything is said with unity and firmness, the government also must accept it. As a member of the bar association Jaipur and worker of the party, I assure you that we will provide full support to the advocate’s fraternity,” Poonia said.

Meanwhile, the lawyers have decided to continue the boycott of judicial work. However, a decision was taken on Friday to postpone the gherao of the State Assembly, which was scheduled for March 13. A meeting was organised by the Sangharsh Samiti and the Bar Association in which the office bearers decided to stall the gherao of the State Assembly but continue to boycott the work. Lawyers have been protesting since February 20.
