FROM RUNWAY TO RAMP

Tell us something about yourself.
My name is Amiksha Dewan and I am from Panchkula, Haryana. Currently, I am working as a commercial pilot in a Cargo Airline in New Delhi. Modelling has been my hobby and I have worked as a model for various jewellery brands, makeup artists, designers and photographers.

How did your journey begin?
I always wished to do something different and also loved to travel so I decided to go for the job of a pilot. However, due to the stall in the aviation sector caused by Corona, I got a chance to pursue my hobby.

What were some of the battles you fought and are still fighting in your journey?
I learnt that one should exercise caution before trusting anyone in the fashion world. However, I have been fortunate for I met some wonderful people on my journey. Covid impacted the Aviation industry adversely and everything came to a halt. However, the future seems to be encouraging and hope we get to return to the skies soon.

Talk to us about your achievements.
I got a chance to work with some famous makeup artists and various brands in both Bangalore as well as Delhi. I represented my country at International Handball Tournament held in Sweden and Germany.

Where do you see yourself after the next 20 years?
I wish to see myself as an international aviation professional to support and leave a positive impact on society. I also would like to work with renowned brands.
