Glorious 9 YEARS with BTS

When we think of BTS, one imagines a successful band carrying a bag that’s ‘hella trophies and its hella thic’ and a fandom that worships their shrine wherein Music is the sole creator of their purple universe while dancing strings their souls. What we see is the surface-level reality of a band that struggled through the blood, sweat and tears of achieving their dreams but beneath those fiery curtains of passion and unwavering music chart records are the concepts and messages that they portray via their heartfelt songs.

About 5 years ago I saw BTS. Before BTS, K-Pop was just a genre of music for me. But after knowing them I realized Bangtan is not a simple boy group but these seven members, RM, Jin, Suga, J Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook represent seven pillars of life: They were formed through auditions by BigHit Entertainment with their song ‘No more Dreams’ in 2013, after struggling for years finally in 2016, they truly became famous with their comeback ‘FIRE’ and became one of the most famous idols of Korea, then in 2017 their International fame grew and they were featured in AMAs 2017 & Ellen Degeneres Show. After dominating the entire music industry now they have completed 9 glorious years with their Army. BTS represents seven pillars of life and has always taught its fans to fight for their dreams.

PROGRAM: By program, I mean a systematic and organised life. They are very professional and hard-working, they taught us to work hard for our dreams.

IMPROVISATION: BTS always keep room for improvement for themselves, they work hard, accept wisdom with open hands and always try to learn and become the best version of themselves, and they always motivate their fans to do the same.

COMPARTMENTALIZATION: Just like we have skin that keeps deleterious substances outside our body.

BTS taught us to keep hate and negativity away. They have received so much hate and death threats and were ill-treated for their looks but they took every hate as a challenge and fought it with their talent. They also taught their fans to love themselves and accept who they really are, irrespective of what the world thinks.

ENERGY: BTS is a synonym for energy, perfection, positivity, professionalism and magic.

REGENERATION: Walking, running, falling and again getting up with a fighting spirit is what regeneration means here and our BTS is the perfect example of this. From inviting spectators for free concerts to performing concerts in the world’s biggest stadiums (Housefull) and GRAMMYs is just a BTS thing.

ADAPTABILITY: Rigorous training, extreme diet, a packed schedule, slave contracts, public image pressure, work pressure, having to look perfect, no privacy, etc. They still manage and adapt themselves beautifully irrespective of anything.

SECLUSION: They always try to keep pain, grief, pressure and sadness away from their fans and always motivate and comfort them in their magic shop.

The main BTS concept revolves around BTS Universe (BU) commonly known as the Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa series. The narrative depicts seven boys that are best friends with their fates star-crossing each other. They dwell in the joyous of the good times but are bogged down in the mire of misery when they separate ways. Here is when they give into their anxieties as they deem living as a burdensome task and the prevailing uncertainties damage their life.

Every new BTS album adds to the concept, it goes on with the narrative - sometimes the cliffhanger is heartbreaking, sometimes it shows a message of hope reflecting an almost mirage.
