THE STORY OF HEARTBREAKS

A new pairing of Shaheer Sheikh and Nikki Tamboli has excited fans as they cannot seem to get enough of the two in their latest song ‘Ek Haseena Ne’. Sung beautifully by Ramji Gulati who has also produced, composed and directed the song, ‘Ek Haseena Ne’ has stolen several hearts and is continuing to do so even now. Nikki Tamboli, Shaheer Sheikh and Ramji Gulati sat down with First India Telly to talk about the song, KKK S12 and more.

Talking about the song, Ramji Gulati stated, “Ek Haseena is a song which is very close to me. It is one of my favourites. I wanted to work with Shaheer and Nikki for a very long time. So, when this song was made, I knew this was the perfect song for them. When I heard the line, Ek Haseena Ne, I couldn’t picture anyone else other than Nikki. I could see a fresh and good pair, so I decided to do this.”

On how he managed to portray a heartbroken man, Shaheer revealed, “The song and the concept, both are beautiful. It also was very simple and something that the audience can relate to easily. So, I tried to portray it with conviction. I would like to agree with Ramji that when I heard the song, I could not think of anyone else but Nikki. And she has done justice to the role. Even I tried to put my best into it in the limited time we had.”

He added, “I am very picky about my performance and always try to redo shots or remove something. But when I saw the music video, I replied ‘Paaji, this is perfect.’ It couldn’t have been better than that.” Speaking about the song and her role as a heart-breaker, Nikki said, “I knew Shaheer from the beginning and I was looking forward to working with him. The moment I listened to the song; I had visualized the concept in my head that I have to break hearts yet again. I wanted to try something different but with Shaheer being in it and the song being so beautiful, I had to do it. There was no reason to say no to it.” On whether she would break Shaheer’s heart in a hypothetical relationship, Nikki jokingly replied, “Depends on my mood.” The KKK alum also praised Shaheer for staying strong through tough times. “He had just lost his father and I had lost my brother last year. When I first met him, I was shivering with anxiety as to what I should say to him. But despite being heartbroken, he was so strong. I was in awe. He taught me to move on in life and not dwell on the sadness of life,” she said. Showing his emotional side, Shaheer credited his father for making him what he is today, “I can never be him but he taught me the lesson that life is small, live on your terms and be happy.”
