The Talented Trio of Lucknow

Dr Ravish Srivastav is a man who enjoys listening to kissey kahaniya and has turned his hobby into a career via hard work and determination. His sons are also following their passions and have built a name for themselves.

THE WRITER AND ACTOR This man left his government job to pursue his passion which later led to the publication of two novels, 'Woh Ajnabi' (in 2014) and 'Usey aana hi tha' (in 2018), and an acting career spanning 21 movies and 21 feature films, 11 web series and 1 Hollywood flick.

“I worked in Ignou Regional Centre in Vrindavan Yojna in Lucknow and left the job in July 2019 to pursue my passion. When I left Ignou, we started a cafe here which would suffice the family's needs. Due to the lockdown, we faced heavy financial losses and finally had to shut it down”, he said.

Throughout the lockdown, the father-son duo made a short film, 'Duvidha', which addresses the challenges of ordinary families during the lockdown.

He mentioned that recently he was playing a part in Brij ke Gopal but left it midway due to the lack of producers' commitment.

Talking about his upcoming series on Netflix titled Sabse Bada Rapiaya, he tells, " I am playing a Naxalite chief in the series have got a chance to showcase much more of my talent and am anxiously waiting for its release".

SON MOTIVATES FATHER TO FOLLOW HIS HEART “I just entered the scene after seeing Utkarsh become victorious. He proved to be a motivating force for me”, said Ravish patting his son's shoulder and taking himself back to the memory of nervous Utkarsh, in his school days saying,” Papa yaar main padhai nahee karna chahta”.

“I told him that it's fine if he wants to pursue music instead of formal schooling and that he should never look back.”, Ravish said.

Utkarsh trained himself through special classical music training to a professional level. He has published a song called Tu Hai Kahan, which he created while driving to his café. He then began writing and publishing songs. So far, he has composed 12-15 songs and is attempting to monetize them with his younger brother.

“Randeep Hooda has been a part of my show in Gurugram, I have opened twice for Neha Kakkar and have performed Ankit Tiwari’s songs in front of the singer. Zubin Nautiyal was also impressed by my performance”.

Utkarsh also conceptualised a song during the pandemic where 25 Lucknowi musicians and 100 actors contributed from their homes. He was recently a member of a worldwide collaboration metal album that was published in 2018 from Switzerland.

THE BINDING FORCE The second brother Chitransh Srivastav, took the camera and went on to shoot and then edit the visuals making the boys a complete pack. When talking about his idols, he says that the 19-year-old Ujjwal Kulkarni, who edited KGF Chapter 2 is his idol right now.

He also shot a flick on Diwali and brought a role reversal between humans and animals. “If a man was as aware in his senses, just like a dog or a cat, how will he react to the crackers busting in Diwali”, was the baseline of the short movie, which was awarded by none other than the talented director Ashwini-Iyer-Tiwari.
