2 kids die, 60 people hurt as five cylinders explode

Jodhpur: Sixty people got injured and a oneand-a-half-year-old toddler died after five gas cylinders burst at a wedding ceremony in Jodhpur. The incident happened at Bhungra village near Shergarh on Thursday. The wedding was at Takht Singh’s house. The procession was about to leave the house, when suddenly the cylinders exploded. Collector Himanshu Gupta said that out of 60 people, 52 injured were brought to the hospital here, out of which two children have died while 49 injured are undergoing treatment. One patient is in ICU and 10 have suffered more than 90% burns. Fifteen to 20 people have less than 50 percent burns and 17 people were discharged after treatment. The injured people were brought to Shergarh. Some people were referred to the burn unit of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital here. Rural SP Anil Kayal said that about five cylinders exploded. He said that a cylinder leaked while cooking and caught fire.
