Bharatpur ACB arrests VDO, broker for graft

Bharatpur: The AntiCorruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a Village Development Officer (VDO) and a broker in Bharatpur while accepting a bribe of Rs 3,000. The VDO had demanded the bribe to make the NREGA job card of the complainant’s brother.

“The VDO, Ashiq Khan, was posted at Pahadi Ki Bhauri Panchayat Samiti of Bharatpur district. The complainant, Ramesh, has requested Ashiq Khan to issue the NREGA job card of his brother and upload it online. The VDO had already taken a bribe of Rs. 4000 as first installment on Jan 14,” police said.
