CM conducts aerial survey of flood-hit Dholpur, assures help

Dholpur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot conducted an aerial survey of flood affected villages of Dholpur district on Friday. He visited about a dozen villages of Sirmathura, Bari and Rajkheda areas and inquired about the rescue and relief operations. He directed the officers to provide prompt assistance to the affected at the earliest. The CM had also conducted aerial survey and met affected people on Thursday in the Hadoti region. His visit to the floodaffected Karauli’s Mandrayal town was cancelled on Friday due to bad weather. Tourism Minister Vishvendra Singh also took stock of the situation in the flood affected areas of Chilpura, Andava Puraini, Mahdpura, Tikatpura, Vakatapura, Shankarpura and Gopalpura around the Chambal river. He interacted with the people at the shelters and directed the administration to continue the facilities until water recedes.

Gehlot assured the affected families that assistance would be provided to them. He said, “There was no loss of life as the administration was alert. The administration, NDRF and SDRF have rescued more than 5,000 people. Three people were rescued by an Army helicopter.” Rajkheda MLA Rohit Bohra, Divisional Commissioner Savarmal Verma, Inspector General of Police Gaurav Srivastava and District Collector Anil Kumar Aggarwal, public representatives and high officials were also present during this. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Ramesh Meena assured that the CM has given guarantee of help and compensation to every farmer affected by the damage in the area.
