CM OKAYS RS 17L EACH TO VICTIMS’ KIN, JOBS FOR 25; DHARNA ENDS

Jodhpur: CM Ashok Gehlot on Sunday announced a special package for the victims’ dependents and those injured in Jodhpur gas cylinder blast tragedy. Rs 17 lakh each to the dependents and contract jobs to 25 victims was announced by the CM after his telephonic conversation with former MLA Babu Singh Rathore and former minister Pushpendra Singh.

CM Gehlot has called both the leaders to Alwar. BS Rathore announced to end the dharna and to collect the dead bodies on Sunday night. The death toll on Sunday reached 36 in the gas tragedy happened at Bhungra village under Shergarh police station.

On the other hand, the dharna going on outside the mortuary of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital by Rajupat and Sarva Samaj continued on Sunday and a massive protest was held by all communities in Jodhpur on Sunday demanding adequate compensation for the victims of the cylinder blast in Bhungra village of Shergarh subdivision. The protestors gathered outside the mortuary of Mahatma Gandhi Hospital at 11:30 am and took out a protest march till District Collectorate.

Later, a delegation of protestors met the Divisional Commissioner, District Collector and senior police officials and submitted a memorandum demanding a special financial package for the victims of the cylinder blast. The protestors raised black flags and black bands during the protest. The agitators demanded a financial assistance of Rs. 50 lakh to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and a government job and financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to those injured.
