Councillor, middleman in ACB net for taking Rs 20,000 bribe in Ajmer

Ajmer: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday arrested a councillor and a middleman while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. ACB sleuths informed that councillor of Ward No 79 of Ajmer Municipal Corporation, Virendra Walia & broker Roshan allegedly demanded bribes from complainant for not acting on construction of his plot. “The complainant stated that Virendra Walia and Roshan threatened that his house is illegal and will be razed. The accused demanded a bribe of Rs 50,000 to allow him to continue the construction,” police said. “The complaint was verified and a trap was laid. On Tuesday, the councillor and middleman was held red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 20,000,” police added.
