Jodhpur lawyer cremated, stir for demands continues

Jodhpur: Deceased advocate Jugraj Chauhan, who was killed few days ago, was cremated after the request of the family members in Jodhpur on Friday. The family members of deceased Chauhan requested the advocates that they want to perform the last rites.

On the request of the relatives, the lawyers gave permission for the post-mortem and last rites of the dead body. However, the advocates said that they will keep agitating for the demand of implementing the pending Advocates Protection Act.

Raj HC Advocate Association President Ranjit Joshi announced a grand strike of lawyers in Jodhpur on Sunday.
Office-bearers of all the Bar Associations of Rajasthan will hold a meeting in Jodhpur on February 26 to chalk out the strategy for the implementation of the Advocates Protection Act.

The Police has also demanded appointment of a Case officer in the matter.
