Kingpin among eight held in fake call centre scam in Rajsamand

Rajsamand: In a major action by the cyber police, a fake call centre was busted and eight people were arrested in Rajsamand on Wednesday. An eMitra operator was also cheated in the name of online trading.

The police have arrested eight accused including the call centre mastermind. According to the police, he has committed frauds worth more than Rs 1 crore across the country. About 20 mobiles were seized from the possession of the accused. The call centre was operated from Dewas in Madhya Pradesh (MP).

According to Rajsamand DSP Sudhir Joshi, a few months ago, eMitra director of Rajnagar, Manish Kumar (26) received a link and login ID password on WhatsApp. After opening the link, Rs 2.10 lakh were deducted from his account.

Two police teams were formed and teams were sent to Ujjain and Dewas in Madhya Pradesh to nab the thugs. In the entire episode, Constable Indra Chand Choyal had a special role in collecting data and locating and detaining unknown accused, who will be sent a proposal to the police headquarters for a suitable reward.
