Man crushed to death by sand mafia, MLA & dist chief sit on dharna

Alwar: A 30-year old man was assaulted and crushed to death by the sand mafia in Barmer. The incident took place late on Monday night under Balotra police station area. It is alleged that the accused have first assaulted the victim and later crushed him under their vehicle. However, the victim was taken to the hospital but died during treatment. Meanwhile, deceased family members have refused to take the body till the arrest of all the accused. Police identified the deceased as Nathu Khan, a resident of Asada village. Police said that on Monday night Khan was coming from Aasotara to his native village Asada. In the meantime some people, possibly members of the sand mafia, first assaulted Khan and later crushed him under the vehicle. Circle officer Dhanful Meena said that on getting informed police reached at the spot and the victim was taken to nearest hospital.
