Municipal commissioner caught red handed with bribe of Rs 1 Lakh
Barmer: A special team from the anti corruption bureau on Thursday caught the municipal commissioner red handed while accepting a bribe of rupees one lakh. ACB also had arrested one middleman in the case. However, ACB could not catch one another accused eloped from the spot with bribe money. Official said that they have launched the hunt for the accused. Accused was identified as Jodharam Bishnoi, posted as commissioner at Municipal council Balotra in Barmer. Official said that a complaint approached the ACB alleging the Bishnoi had demanded rupees one lakh from him for releasing the lease deed of his agricultural land and commercial registration certificate. After the verification , a trap was laid in which the municipal commisioner was caught him red handed while accepting the bribe from the middleman. ACB also arrested the middleman Prakash Bishnoi. Official said that one sweeping staff of the municipal council was also presented there but eloped with the bribe money. Later, ACB officials also launched a search at the accused residence and other locations.
