Official apathy mars CM Chiranjeevi Jeevan Raksha scheme

Jaipur: CM Ashok Gehlot’s Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Jeevan Raksha Yojana announced in the last budget to save the lives of those injured in accidents, is slacking due to the negligence of the officials of the Health & Transport Departments. Many people in the state are unaware of this scheme. A reward of Rs 5,000 was announced for taking an injured person in the accident to nearest hospital. He was rewarded a cash amount from Road Safety Fund for his help. The amount was transferred by Transport Department to Health Department & the Finance Department named the person, who took the injured to the nearest hospital as the “Good Samaritan” But surprisingly, the scheme hasn’t gained popularity. After 11 months of execution, only 12 people took an injured person to hospital & received cash.
