Princess Diya Kumari’s Earth Day Celebrations in Badal Mahal ensures positive impact on people of Rajasthan

Every year on April 22, Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970.Earth Day 1970 gave a voice to a new, emerging environmental consciousness and placed environmental concerns on the front page.

People often waste natural resources. Forests are cleared, exposing land to wind and water damage. Fertile soil is exhausted and lost to erosion because of poor farming practices. poor farming practices. Fuel supplies are depleted. Water and air are polluted.

Why can’t development and conservation coexist in harmony?

There are many different resources we need to conserve in order to live sustainably. Forests provide habitats for animals and plants. They store carbon, helping reduce global warming.Deforestation destroys wildlife habitats and increases soil erosion. It also releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, contributing to global warming. Sustainable forestry practices are critical to ensure that we have conserve these resources well into the future.

If half the world’s paper were recycled, much of the worldwide demand for new paper would be fulfilled, saving many of Earth’s trees!

Princess Diya Kumari Foundation (PDKF) is committed to helping save our precious planet. Keeping this goal in mind, an awareness program was organised at the foundation with environmentalist Aarna Wadhawan to celebrate Earth Day and educate the women and girls of PDKF about sustainability, the environment, and the urgent need to take action towardssaving it.

General secretary of PDKF, Princess Gauravi Kumari and environmentalist Aarna Wadhawan also planted trees along with the women of PDKF on this occasion. The plantation drive was organised to make people aware of the importance of trees and other renewable resources that help revive the planet. Motivating plantation drives can improve air quality and create carbon sinks. We can no longer live in denial of climate change. Communities, in particular women, can make a significant contribution in the way we use and conserve our natural resources.

The agendas of the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation include water conservation, tree plantation, providing people with access to clean drinking water, conservation of forests and addressing pollution. In order to address the problem of water scarcity and the lack of clean water in slum areas, PDKF has donated water tanks to these areas in order to ensure easy access to potable water. PDKF also supports the ‘Save Water’ campaign run by the Government of Rajasthan.

The event has helped make a positive impact on people of Rajasthan and many women have begun to take the initiative of planting trees and nurturing them in their communities.

It is time to come together to counter environmental problems and save our planet!
