Protesters block Jpr-Agra highway for fourth day

Bharatpur: The protest of the Saini community on reservation demand continued on the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday in Bharatpur.

Tourism minister Vishvendra Singh held talks with the delegation of the community but the meeting remained inconclusive because consensus could not be reached on matters related to transfers of the family members of Murari Lal Saini, the convener of the Sangharsh Samiti.

The Jaipur-Agra highway remained blocked as the protestors are sitting on the highway to press for their demands of a 12 percent reservation.

Bharatpur divisional commissioner, IG, collector and SP were present in the meeting which was held in a hotel.

The leaders of the Samiti say that at present these five communities have been included in the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category but are not benefiting from the quota.
