Saini community calls off protest in Bharatpur

Bharatpur: The Saini community on Thursday called off the agitation after Tourism Minister Vishwendra Singh met the protestors and took a memorandum from them. The protesters were staging a sit-in at Jaipur-Agra National Highway in Bharatpur for the last five days demanding 12 per cent reservation in jobs and higher education. People from Kushwah, Shakya, Maurya, and Mali communities were also part of the agitation demanding reservation.

While addressing the protestors near Aroda on the Jaipur-Agra highway, Tourism Minister Vishwendra Singh said, “It is my duty to raise this issue before Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. I have had a relationship with you people for the last 14 generations, but people from your community are wrongly abusing me on social media,”.
