Insurance co regional manager held with Rs 20K bribe in Barmer

Barmer: Anti-corruption bureau (ACB) team on Wednesday caught the regional manager of SBI General Insurance red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 20,000. The accused has demanded the bribe of Rs 1.20 lakh for clearing the claim of Rs 20 lakh in a death case.

Additional director general at ACB Hemant Priyadarshi confirmed the report. Accused was identified as Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Jodhpur and currently posted as regional manager SBI General Insurance in Barmer. The action has been taken by the ACB Jalore team, officials said. According to information, the complainant approached the ACB alleging that regional manager SBI General Insurance in Barmer has demanded rupees 1.20 lakhs for clearing the claim of rupees twenty lakhs due for the death of his family member.

Officials said that after verification of the complaint, on Wednesday ACB officials caught Rajesh Kumar red handed while accepting the bribe of rupees twenty thousand. Till the last report, search was on at the residence of the accused in Jodhpur and other locations, said officials.
