Sgnr police nabs 2 of Lawrence Bishnoi gang in extortion bid

Sri Ganganagar: The Sri Ganganagar Police on Friday arrested two members of the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang for allegedly threatening and demanding ransom from a local businessman.

The gangsters were arrested after an encounter with police on Friday night. “The two accused, identified as Aman Thapan and Bhairon, were arrested, while Arju Bishnoi managed to flee from the site. They had demanded a ransom of Rs 5 lakhs from the victim,” police said.

“Vinod Kumar, a tractor agency owner, was allegedly threatened by the three accused. The victim, however, alerted the police. The miscreants accelerated their car and tried to run away when they spotted the police,” police said.
