SOG AdSP Divya sent to 3-day police remand

Ajmer: Special Operation Group (SOG) Additional Superintendent of Police (AdSP) Divya Mittal, who was arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday on charges of demanding a bribe of Rs 2 crore from a pharmaceutical manufacturer, was produced before an ACB court in Ajmer on Tuesday and sent on threeday police remand.

The ACB had demanded a police remand of four days, but the court gave three days of police remand for interrogation. The ACB will now investigate the role of terminated constable in the bribe case. Defence counsel Pritam Singh Soni argued that two cases related to banned medicines have been registered in Ramganj while one case is registered in Alwar Gate Police Station and both cases were investigated by SOG AdSP Divya Mittal. The drug mafia has conspired against her to remove her from the investigation.

The AdSP and middleman have been accused of demanding a bribe from a pharmaceutical manufacturer after threatening to falsely implicate them in a drug seizure case that she was probing.
