Udaipur Murder: Chief Secretary directs of strict measures

Jaipur: After the brutal murder of a man in Udaipur, Chief Secretary Usha Sharma has directed all the Divisional Commissioners, Inspector General of Police, and District Collectors to take special vigilance across the State by holding a high-level meeting on Tuesday evening.

With a view to maintain law and order, the Chief Secretary has ordered the suspension of the internet for the next 24 hours across the State, imposing Section 144 in all the districts for the next one month, prohibiting the gathering of more than four people, police and administration. Instructions have been given to cancel the leave of all the officers, organize peace committee meetings and impose a curfew as per the requirement in the Udaipur district. 

The Chief Secretary has directed all the Divisional Commissioners to strictly stop the dissemination of videos of the Udaipur incident through mobile and other means. She said that an appeal should be made to the religious leaders to cooperate in maintaining communal harmony and peace.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri Abhay Kumar said that the situation should be monitored with utmost vigilance and sensitivity in all the districts, all officers of police and administration should ensure continuous monitoring of law and order in their respective areas.

Director-General of Police M.L. Lather directed that police and administration officers should ensure special monitoring to maintain law and order in view of the Udaipur incident. "Strict vigil should be kept on the those who disrupt communal harmony," he stated.

"Adequate police force should be deployed to maintain law and order. If there is a need for additional force, the force should be called for, immediately", he further stated.

Director-General of Police Intelligence Umesh Mishra gave instructions for effective intelligence in all the districts.
