Woman patwari held, hubby escapes with bribe

Barmer: ACB team on Sunday caught a woman Patwari and her husband red-handed while taking a bribe of rupees eight thousand. ACB arrested the woman Patwari but her husband, who was also present there during the ACB trap, was successful in escaping with bribe money. ACB is now searching for the accused. Incident has been reported from Mokalsar town in Barmer. Annraj Singh, deputy superintendent of police at ACB confirmed the report.

According to the information, complainant Chandan Singh, a resident of Mokalsar had approached the ACB alleging that Rekha Vaishnav, Patwari of his circle, is demanding a bribe for filling mutation of his agricultural land. He alleged that he had already given rupees fifteen thousand to them, but she is demanding more ten thousand rupees. Complainant informed the ACB that accused husband Subhash Vaishnav is also involved in this nexus. Following the complainant, ACB first verified the complaint, and on Sunday caught Rekha and her husband Subhash while accepting a bribe of rupees 8,500. ACB arrested the prime accused Rekha and launched hunt for her husband.
