Jodhpur: “Only a clean and healthy village can become smart”, said Governor Kalraj Mishra. Active participation of all villagers is necessary to turn it into a reality. He said that it is also necessary for all the people of the smart village to be self-reliant. Mishra said that the universities will have to play a leading role in making the villagers self-reliant.
He was addressing villagers in Nandada Kalla village which is adopted by Jayanarayan Vyas University in Jodhpur district on Friday. The villagers welcomed the Governor and gifted a shawl to first lady of the state Satyavati Mishra.
The officials of the university should identify the talent and provide them with the right employment platform. Giving ideas on the small scale business, the Governor said that sewing-weaving, mobile repairing, making milk and cheese from soybean can be easily set up in village. Vice Chancellor BR Chaudhary informed about the development works done in the village. Nodal Officer JR Vishnoi submitted a report on development of the village.
Governor Mishra said that university should adopt a new village after every two and a half years without leaving the earlier adopted village. Develop infrastructure and pay attention to education, health, roads, water and electricity there.
He encouraged villagers and instructed officials to form self-help groups in the area. On the demand for ITI college in the village, Mishra said that their suggestion is good and necessary efforts will be taken to give training to youths within the village boundaries.
