Post curfew, BJP’s three-member panel takes stock of tension at Tonk’s Malpura

Tonk: Normal life and peace were resumed in Malpura town of Tonk district on Saturday. The district administration gave a three-hour relaxation in the curfew on Saturday.

On the other hand, BJP state president Satish Poonia has formed a three-member probe committee comprising of MLA and former minister Kalicharan Saraf, Jaipur city MP Ramcharan Bohra and former minister Rajpal Singh Shekhawat to investigate the Malpura incident. The committee reached Malpura town on Saturday and spoke to officials and affected people. The committee will present its report to BJP state president Satish Poonia.

Tonk Zila Pramukh Satyanarayan, BJP district President Ganesh Mahur, MLA Kanhaiya Lal Chaudhary were present with the committee.

The committee went to Malpura to inspect the site of the incident and met the victims to investigate the matter. Apart from this, it sought information from the administration about action against the culprits. At the same time, the committee also demanded the administration to restore peace and law and order in Malpura at the earliest.

On October 8, there was stone-pelting during the procession of Vijayadashami in Malpura. After which there was communal tension in the town. Curfew was imposed in the town on Wednesday after the situation deteriorated. The curfew relaxation was extended to three hours on Saturday for the fourth day. Police personals and officials were seen making rounds of the city.
