Jaipur: For the effective and successful implementation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Adarsh Gram Yojana the state government has set up a state-level advisory committee under the chairmanship of Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment. The committee will also give full guidance and monitor the scheme.

A few days ago, Deputy Chief Minister and PCC Chief Sachin Pilot wrote a letter to all the MPs of the state urging them to adopt the villages of their parliamentary constituency under the Adarsh Gram Yojana. Now the state government has formed a committee for development of rural Rajasthan. This is expected to put pressure on MPs from Rajasthan to adopt the villages soon in their respective parliamentary constituency.

Additional chief secretary or principal secretary and secretary of Planning, Panchayati Raj, Women and Child Development, Education, Medical and Health, Public Health and Engineering, Home, Public, Water Resources, Energy, Information Technology Departments or representative of organisations will be members of this committee. Other members include, head of the state-level technical resource support institution, the representative of the State Scheduled Castes Commission and the Department of Telecommunication, at least six experts and social workers working in the area of Scheduled Caste Welfare, the convenor of the state banks, one representative each from the Ministry of Rural Development and Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and Government of India.

The principal secretary to the Social Justice and Empowerment Department will be the Member Secretary of the Committee and it will ensure the implementation of the centre and state-sponsored schemes for the all-round development of the identified villages under the Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana.

The committee will meet once every quarter to provide advice and guidance to overcome the obstacles faced in the implementation of welfare schemes. It would be necessary to organise meetings at least twice a year. The term of the committee will be permanent. Social Justice and Empowerment Department will be the administrative department of the committee.
