Jaipur: Medical and Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma said that 88.5% vaccination has been done in the state so far and it will be brought to 100% by the given time. Sharma gave this assurance to Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan while discussing the preparations for the ‘Saghan Indradhanush Mission 2.0’. The campaign is starting from December and so the Union Minister took a meeting of all the health ministers and senior officials of all the states through video conferencing from Delhi on Thursday.
Sharma informed that this campaign would be conducted in four phases in Rajasthan and will run for a week in all the four phases starting from December 2, January 6, February 3 and March 2.
Sharma added that vaccination work is being done on a large scale by Anganwadi workers, Asha Sahyoginis, ANMs and other health workers of the state. Resistance is also seen in many places due to lack of awareness about vaccines, but vaccination is done after the health workers making the people aware about it.
Speaking about the arrangements of running the campaign comprehensively across the state, Sharma said that all preparations have been completed. For the effective implementation of Saghan Indradhanush Mission, active support is also being taken from various departments, including Women and Child Development, Panchayati Raj, Education, Information and Public Relations, Police, Labour Department and Nehru Yuva Kendra. All children and pregnant women deprived of vaccination, will be vaccinated under this.
The Union Minister said that no child and pregnant women of the state should be deprived of the vaccination campaign. He also called for the campaign to be the largest game-changer in the country and the way polio was eradicated from the country, the other diseases should be eliminated.
While addressing the state ministers, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said, “I am happy that all the states have done relatively better in terms of vaccination, but now the time has come when we get 100% vaccination done and break all our previous records. He said that work must be done by adopting a micro strategy where reach is not possible yet.
Mission Indradhanush: The Intensified Mission Indradhanush (IMI) 2.0 that is to be rolled out from 2 December 2020 will focus on 272 districts of 27 states and 652 blocks of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar among hard-to-reach and tribal populations. The program aims to escalate efforts to achieve the goal of attaining 90% national immunization coverage across India.
