Jaipur: During the one-day visit of Director General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay to Jaipur, CM Ashok Gehlot will be dedicating UNESCO Heritage Certificate to the people of Jaipur. A programme will be held to felicitate Azoulay at the Albert Hall February 5 where an Audio Visual Presentation on World Heritage City Jaipur will also be showcased. Minister of Tourism Vishvendra Singh, Minister of Local Self Government Shanti Dhariwal and Minister of Art & Culture BD Kalla will also be present at the occasion. It is to be noted that the Jaipur was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City in 2019.
Director of Tourism, Rajasthan, Bhanwar Lal informed that a brochure entitled ‘Intangible Heritage Promotion Project’, prepared by the Department of Tourism will also be released. A MOU was signed to this effect in September last year between the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan and UNESCO. The project aims to develop 10 new cultural tourism destinations in the State. The four districts in Western Rajasthan which will benefit from this project are Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer and Bikaner. The project will benefit as many as 1500 artists.
