Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has left no stone unturned to make the Congress’s Bharat Bachao Rally at Ramleela maidan in New Delhi on December 14 a huge success and on Friday, the three-time CM and Congress stalwart reiterated that he has observed huge excitement among the people in every part of the state for the rally.
Talking exclusively to First India, Gehlot said, “I have received reports from every corner of the state whether it is Bharatpur, Alwar, Dholpur, Karauli, Mewar or Marwar, people will turn up in huge numbers. I was on a tour of Hadoti and everyone who came to meet me spoke only about the rally.”
Emphasising about the need for the rally and taking a jibe at the Modi government, Gehlot said, “Entire nation knows that the people are feeling low. The economy has been destroyed. There are no jobs, instead people are getting fired. Regarding onions, everyone is in “tears”, literally! They are not concerned with democracy and hence only two people are ruling the nation – Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. Situation has come to this stage that we had to meet the President.”
Hitting back over the removal of SPG cover from the Gandhi family, Gehlot said SPG was formed after Indira Gandhi’s assassination and when SPG was removed, Rajiv Gandhi met with the same fate. “It is not my comment, rather former Chief Justice of India Late JC Verma has also corroborated the same in his recommendation that had the SPG cover not been removed, Rajiv Gandhi would have been saved. Nevertheless, the PM and Home Minister are unable to fathom that two people from this family have been killed thus what was the point of removing the SPG cover. The entire country has seen this, understood this and given them a befitting reply in Maharashtra,” Gehlot said.
Claiming that it was the state government’s duty to give good governance to the people, Gehlot said people have hopes from the government. “We are making conscious efforts to fulfil their hopes and wishes. We are engrossed in ensuring that there is sensitive and transparent government and it is in this regard that we decided to hold video conference with Collectors every month and monitor the government policies till grassroots level in villages especially. Feedback on problems faced by people and its solution by the administration will be taken and action would be taken based on that,” Gehlot said.
During his Hadaoti tour, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said that the social fabric of India is being thwarted. “Under Modi-Raj, the social fabric is being damaged and due to economic slowdown and widespread unemployment, crime and criminals are ruling the roost. It is this situation that takes a society down the path of violence and tension. “Those involved in heinous crimes like gangrape and adulteration should not only be hanged, but law should be framed that those committing such acts, their hearing and sentencing should be completed within a stipulated time,” Gehlot said.
