Liquor shop lotteries to be drawn on March 7

Applications for liquor contracts can be filed online between Feb 12 & 27

Jaipur: The Excise department has announced dates for the submission of application for liquor contracts for 2020-21. The applications can be filed online between February 12 and 27.

According to excise department, application fee can be deposited through internet banking, eGRAS challan and DD. The applicant does not need to submit copy of application and challan to district excise officer if applied online and fee deposited online.

The information regarding lottery would be soon available on notice board in district collector and district excise officer’s offices. The lottery would be drawn on March 7 at 11 am simultaneously in all district headquarters.

The excise department, as usual has clarified that one person would only be allotted one shop. If a person submits more than one application, he would be allotted only one shop in which minimum applications would be received.

But in case, equal number of applications are received than the applicant would be allotted with the shop which has higher annual fee.

A lot of times, people protest when shops are allotted near school and religious places. To avoid such incidents the locations of shops and godowns would be approved online. The distance of the shop from school, religious place, Aanganbari and hospital would be checked through online feed of coordinate data of geo tag.

Liquor manufacturing will be traced and tracked electronically. The information would be collected from hologram linked QR code.

Considering the sentiment of the sector the the advance fees has been reduced from 18% to 14.5%, deposit reduced to 4% from existing 8% and composite fees has been set at 7% of yearly billing from existing 8%.

For the first time country liquor will have minimum & maximum prices printed.
