Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has said that providing better nutrition and education to women and children, skill development of girls, providing better health care facilities to the people are in the top priorities of the State Government.
Gehlot was having discussion with the representatives of Children Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) on education, health, woman and child development and some other issues at Chief Minister’s office on Wednesday.
He directed the officers to work in coordination with CIFF in this sector along with initiating innovations.
He also directed to form a Steering Committee for this. He said that although good works are taking place through various schemes in the field of Girls’ Education, Woman and Child nutrition and Health Services, but more work can be done in this direction with technical help from international institutions like CIFF.
The Chief Minister said, ‘if we make efforts today to educate girls, provide employment opportunities to women by imparting skill development and improve their nutrition level, we will be able to make our coming generation healthier and more prosperous.’ All possible efforts would be made for the successive development in these fields.
Technical assistance by CIFF can play important role in achieving the targets fixed by the Government, he added.
During the meeting CEO, CIFF Kate Hampton said that her foundation wanted to continue investment in the state for the overall development of women, girls and children and the foundation would extend all its cooperation in these sectors. Hampton expressed her wish to work with the State Government in Maternity Benefit Cash Transfer through project ‘Rajpusht’.
She praised Project ‘Dakshata’, the initiative taken by the State government for safe delivery at the delivery rooms and reduction in still births. It is to be mentioned that Andhra Pradesh has also adopted this project.
Meanwhile, during the day, former Minister Mahendra Jeet Malviya and Ashok Bairwa met Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday. CM Gehlot posted a tweet mentioning that the problems being faced by the auto sector are becoming worse and the sale of vehicles has gone down by 14% in January. Without taking a concrete step in the matter, the NDA government is only doing lip service. The industry provides employment to lakhs of people. Moreover, late in the evening, two cricket players from Rajasthan – Ravi Bishnoi and Akash Singh – who were part of the India under-19 team also met CM. the duo were accompanied by RCA President Vaibhav Gehlot.
