Poonia targets Cong over locust attack

Barmer: BJP state president Satish Poonia was on a one-day tour to the border district where he paid his respects to departed social worker Tan Singh Chauhan. He also went to Congress MLA Mevaram Jain’s residence to condole him on the demise of his mother.

Poonia while interacting with media said that despite the onus of alerting for Locust attack lying with the central govt, it was morally the responsibility of the state govt.

The central govt had released the alert two months before the locust attacks and had written to the state govt to make arrangements to deal with the attack as it was devastating for the crops in its way. Poonia alleged that the agriculture department under state govt did not do the needful except govt itself posing to be farmer friendly.

BJP president also charged the Congress govt of systematically removing pictures and lessons of nationalistic leaders from the educational syllabus fully realizing that the people have rejected the Congress ideology.
