Traffic trauma: HC seeks govt’s report in 2 weeks

Jaipur: A hearing was held in the High Court regarding making Jaipur a world-class city on Tuesday. The court has ordered the expert committee constituted by the government regarding the traffic system of Jaipur city to present the report in the court in two weeks. The division bench of Chief Justice Indrajit Mahanty and Justice Ashok Gaur passed the order while hearing five different PILs.

During the hearing, Nyaymitra Vimal Choudhary informed about the encroachment not being removed on the link road connecting the Ganesh temple to Ram Niwas Bagh despite the court order. Responding to it, the JDA and the govt said that there are religious constructions in the middle of the road, which is taking some time to be removed.

After that, the court directed all the parties, including Jaipur District Collector, JDC, Municipal Commissioner and officials of the concerned departments, to visit the area and give suggestions to remove encroachment from there. CJ Mahanty has also asked ASG RD Rastogi and AAG Satyendra Raghav for opinions on the matter. On the consent of all the parties, the HC has fixed the time to visit the area at 5 pm on February 14.
