Rajasthan ranks first in India for free medicine scheme

Jaipur: Health Minister Dr Raghu Sharma has congratulated all the personnel associated with the CM free medicine scheme for once again getting the first rank for the month of September among the free medicine schemes in 16 major states by the NHM. As per the ranking, the percentage of online medicine delivery counters is found to be 94.59%, whereas the percentage of drug and vaccine management system per primary health centre is reported as 84.76%, which is a significant achievement.

Sharma said that it is a result of honest efforts of the government. Also, this scheme is govt’s dream project, which is being strengthened with each passing day. He informed that 608 free medicines were being distributed under this scheme before the present govt was formed. Now, after adding 104 new medicines to the scheme, the number of free medicines has reached 712, which is a record in the whole country.

In the recently released ranking by the NITI Aayog, Dholpur district has got the highest position in the health and nutrition reforms across the country, under the leadership of the Health Minister.

Not only this, but the Chief Minister free medicine scheme has also occupied the first place across the country in the month of August as well. The project was launched by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on October 2, 2011.

Four-point demands of doctors

Resident doctors of SMS hospital are on the path of protest with four-point demands regarding their security. According to information, the JARD had called a general meeting to discuss the demands on Wednesday. After the meeting, resident doctors gave an ultimatum to fulfill all their demands until Sunday. According to JARD office bearers, first of four-point demands is strong security arrangements to be made in all hospitals. The second demand is the decision of increasing the fees of medical students a few days back should be withdrawn. Apart from this, a third demand has been made for the removal of the mandatory 1 yr govt service for Senior Residentship. The fourth demand is to provide hostel facility 1st year residents.
