Jaipur: Health minister Dr Raghu Sharma inaugurated the newly laid New Blood Component Separation Unit at the Blood Bank at Sawai Man Singh Hospital on Saturday along with dedicating to public the renovated ward in the north-wing of the Orthopaedics department.
The minister also inaugurated the IT cell of Data Centre of the hospital, made with a total cost of Rs97 lakh.
Informing about the new additions, Sharma said, “New Blood Component Separation Unit, which has been established at a cost of 55 lakh, will help in deriving components and making blood along with deriving SDP and Platelets. Apart from that the north wing of the orthopaedics department has been renovated at a sum of Rs30 lakh while Rs12 lakh have been spent on establishing the IT cell of the newly construct Data Centre. With the help of the data centre, the doctors will have access to all the data of patients from IPD, OPD and surgery. This will also aid in keeping the case history of a patient.”
The health minister also took part in a function to honour the blood donors.
On this occasion Sharma said, “To facilitate blood donation drive in remote parts of the state, 14 blood collection and conservation vehicles, costing over Rs5 crore, have been sent to seven divisional headquarters and districts to promote voluntary blood donotation. The SMS Hospital provides 1.40 lakh blood and other component units to patients every year which is a major achievement.”
