State’s public will teach Congress a lesson in municipal polls: Satish Poonia

Jaipur: State BJP President Satish Poonia strongly condemned the state government’s decision to re-demarcate the municipal wards and implement the ‘hybrid model’. Poonia also termed it as a betrayal of public trust.

The public will definitely give a befitting reply of Congress actions in the municipal elections, Poonia said while adding that Congress is afraid of losing municipal elections and so is taking such decisions for the purpose of increasing its seats.

Poonia said that whether Congress makes errors in re-demarcation, to increase its seats or brings hybrid model or decentralises the corporations, it will not benefit them because people will vote on the issues of country and nationalism, besides local issues in the country, in the municipal polls. Also, the people of the country trust the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Poonia added that these kinds of decisions are taken under good work plans and the views of the public also matter. He added that, on the basis of the 2011 Census, the BJP had re-demarcated the wards in the past and no objection was made on it. Also, the municipal elections were conducted in a smooth and graceful manner.

This government is concerned only about the municipal elections since the beginning which led to the re-demarcation of the wards on the basis of caste, religion and community, he alleged.

Poonia was addressing a rally in Mandawa and appealed to the public to give their valuable support to BJP candidate Sushila Sigada.

Later BJP MP Hema Malini addressed a huge public meeting at Malsisar on Friday where she appealed to vote in favor of party candidate Sushila Sigada. Apart from Poonia, State General Secretary Organisation Chandrashekhar, Union Minister Arjun Meghwal, Deputy Leader of Opposition Rajendra Rathore and others were present.
