Underground Metro: Trial run to go on till January

Jaipur: People of the city will soon be able to travel by Metro train from Chandpole to Bari Chaupar in the underground metro corridor. Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) has started a trial run of the metro train between Chandpole to Bari Chaupar which will go on till next two months. After this, the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will be invited for the safety check of the Underground Corridor.

The commercial run of Underground Metro may start once the NOC of the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) is received.

The JMRC will send a proposal to CMRS to inspect the underground corridor along with the trial run report and data. CMRS will come to Jaipur to check passenger safety measures of the Metro project.

The Jaipur Metro Project was started in Jaipur during the tenure of the previous Congress government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. At present, commercial operation of the Metro is being done from Mansarovar to Chandpole.

During the previous term of CM Ashok Gehlot, in September 2013, the work of Phase-1B from Chandpole to Bari Chaupar was started.

Trial begins: According to JMRC sources, Metro trial run has been started on November 14 in the underground metro corridor from Chandpole to Bari Chaupar and the trial run will continue for two months. Overhead electrification, signalling, electronic communication and rolling stock work will be investigated during the trial run. After this, there will be a trial run of passenger load. During the trial run, data will be recorded by running the metro train at different speeds at regular intervals, said MK Singhal, Managing Director of JMRC.
