Jaipur: A conflict has arisen between the Congress and the BJP for taking credit for development works in the state capital ahead of Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) elections, there has been.
The development works which the local councillor inaugurated in Vaishali Nagar three days ago the same was inaugurated by block president of Congress again on Wednesday. Angered by this, three councillors of Jhotwara constituency on Thursday accused Agriculture Minister Lalchand Kataria and the state government of taking credit.
“The Cabinet minister is taking credit for the works done by the councillors. Show fear of transfer to the officials, inauguration and foundation stone laying ceremonies of development works are being done illegally,” alleged councillors.
Addressing a press conference on Thursday at the Pink City Press Club, BJP councillors Maan Pandit, Rakhi Rathore and Suman Lohia targeted the state government and Kataria. “I inaugurated the road construction work on October 13 in Nityanand Nagar B. I have constructed this road with JMC’s councillor fund. The Congress block president inaugurated the road again on October 16,” alleged Rakhi Rathore.
“The CM should clarify in what capacity Congress block president is inaugurating government-funded works?” she asked.
BJP councillors alleged that “development of Jhotwara area has been stalled after Kataria became MLA. On the demand of the local people, we got works worth crores of rupees done from the councillor fund. Most works have been completed and we have inaugurated and laid the foundation stone.”
“Congress MLA is laying the foundation stone and inaugurating works under councillor fund just to take credit. Such action does not suit an MLA. If he wants to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone then first he should do works from his MLA fund,” said BJP leaders.
