The Border Security Force (BSF) celebrated its 55th Raising Day. Minister of State of Home Affairs Nityanand Rai attended the 55th Raising Day of Border Security Force (BSF) on December 1, Sunday. He reviewed passing out parade of BSF. On the occasion, the Minister inspected an impressive parade by BSF Jawans and took salute of the march past. He later presented Police Medals for Gallantry and Meritorious Services to the BSF personnel. He also presented the prestigious trophies to the winners during the event. The General Choudhary Trophy – 2019 won by 74 Battalion BSF and received by Commandant Kamal Kumar, Ashwini Kumar Trophy (Sports & Training) – 2019 won by BSF Gujarat Frontier and received by IPS, IG GS Malik. He also released the yearly magazine ‘Borderman’. Earlier, he paid homage to martyrs at BSF memorial. Rajesh Nirwan IPS officer of Rajasthan cadre, presently on deputation to BSF received the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.
Attractions of the Parade included armed female contingent, Camel/ Horse unit, march past by BSF Camel mounted Band and a display of the latest equipment and armaments. During the ceremony, the BSF Jawans and Camel Contingent also displayed acrobatics to a huge round of applause from the viewers’ galleries.
